The summer break ended stand at the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival on September 1st. The Monday before, a few members visited the garden at Blackmill at Kilsyth.
There will be a new page for this blog now the new season's starting.
Also, the results of the SPF Annual Portfolio have come in. Our colour prints which made the display came from Lynne Watson, Alastair McMillan and Duncan Gray. The summer break will soon be over and we're gearing up for running our stand at the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival on September 1st. The first meeting of the new season will be in the clubhouse the following evening.
In the meantime our most recent activities, while the weather has permitted, included an evening walk along the canal at Spiers Wharf, and a second group attending Strathblane Falconry. We've also had photos displayed in local libraries.

In the last couple of weeks we've practised some sports photography as a group of members gathered to see the Caledonia Chaos women's American football team. Then we had a well attended Monday evening outing to Glasgow city centre to practice street photography.
On the latest Monday we gathered in the clubhouse and studio for a catch-up.

We had two club outings on one Monday this week. In the morning a group went to Amazonia at Strathclyde Park where there was the chance to get up close and personal with a number of exotic beasties. The evening outing was to the Pinkston Water Sports complex in Glasgow to catch the action from the canoeists.

We had activities on Sunday and Monday last week. Sunday morning's outing was to Strathblane Falconry, where a dozen of us were trying for action shots of the birds of prey there, with mixed success. Then on Monday evening we had a big turn out, 22 members and prospective members gathered for a wander around the Necropolis on a fine evening.

We've had a busy start to the summer break, with Monday evening outings most weeks. To date we've been to Cumbernauld House, the Arria sculpture, Drumpellier Park and Mugdock, with a good turn-out each time. The latest evening was at Glasgow University, where we were sharing space with BBC's Springwatch Live.
